5 Little Pumpkins

Today we acted out the poem 5 Little Pumpkins and then followed it up with a fun craft...
5 Little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The 1st one said"Oh My it's getting late!"
The 2nd one said"there are stars in the air"
The 3rd one said" But we don't care"
The 4th one said"Let's run and run and run"
The 5th one said "I'm ready for some fun!"
OOOOOO went the wind and out went the lights
and the 5 little pumpkins rolled out of sight!!

Math Workshop

Here are a couple pictures of the kiddos doing math workshop and practicing their academic vocabulary! :)

Pumpkin Investigators

The kiddos had a lot of fun investigating pumpkins.
We learned how to measure how tall they are, and big around they are, how to count the ribs around the outside.
We also learned that a small pumpkin floats! That was so surprising to them!!
Then for a little science fun......we "exploded" a pumpkin!!!
(a little baking soda and vinegar can make for some science fun!!)
Thank you River and David for the pumpkins for our investigation!!
