Picture Day Fun!

Today was picture day!! Look at these adorable kiddos! The photographers did a great job taking pictures and getting the kiddos to give a natural smile. The following are NOT professional, just taken by me!!

Zero the Hero

We had our first visit from Zero the Hero! Zero the Hero realized how important the number "zero" is and how he is needed to make bigger numbers!!

We worked on the number 10, and Zero brought us a yummy treat of a cookie that looked like a zero!

We can't wait to see what he will bring the next time!!!

Readers Workshop

It is hard to believe that we have only been in school a week and a half! These kiddos are soaking in so much and it is fun to watch!! During reading workshops we have been learning all about the routine of readers workshop, and how to take care of and treat books!
On Friday we had the ability to practice our independent reading. Our goal is to build up our stamina to read for 30 minutes by the end of the year. Today we did 5! What a great start!!

We had an amazing day!! We started off doing our daily calendar! This was the first time the children were able to fill in their own calendar which includes a lot of math skills! They did a great job!

I love this picture!!! We switched to crayons for coloring our patterns and he put his pencil behind his ear! Too cute!!!!!

At the beginning of math time the kiddos picked a number and had to put that many manipulative's on it!
